Charles Cotesworth Pinckney Charles Cotesworth Pinckney was born on February 25th, 1746 at Charleston, the ageest son of a politically prominent planter and a remarkable draw who introduced and promoted indigo culture in southwesterly Carolina. 7 eld later, he accompanied his father, who had been appointed colonial agent for southeasterly Carolina, to England.
